Day 183

Out of focus flowers in our front yard. I have trouble sometimes shooting photos without my glasses, especially when using our second lens.

Day 182

Windows of an abandoned commercial building, River Street, Albion, MI.

Day 181

Flower.

Day 180

Saying goodbye to Amy as she rode off to school for the first day of classes, I noticed this path in the dew running through the vacant lot across the street from us. What I don't understand is what caused it. It's not footprints; it's too wide for a bicycle. Curious...

Day 179

Former home the daily (now weekly) Albion Recorder newspaper, as well as several other now-defunct businesses. West Porter Street, Albion, MI.

Day 178

Meat and vegetarian feast at Altu's Ethiopian Restaurant, in East Lansing, MI. To be honest, we'd already started eating before I remembered that I wanted to have the meal as my photo of the day. In addition, I took the picture with my phone, so the meal looks much less appetizing than it did for real, and was delicious (and filling).

Day 177

Hosta flower, backyard.

Day 176

Interior quad of St. James Episcopal Church, Albion, MI. The church is being rebuilt after a May 2007 destroyed the sanctuary.

Day 175

Black-eyed Susans.

Day 174

I tend to leave footwear around the course; the dogs leave the toys.

Day 173

I was trying to be all artsy and photograph an early important album for me, with my reflection in it. Didn't work at all and I just binned the record.

Day 172

Abandoned house, Albion, MI.

Day 171

Diabetes diagnosis means regular exercise is a requirement--the driving range and the occasional nine holes will be part of that regime.

Day 170

Flower at night.

Day 169

The legendary banjo picker Earl Scruggs, on stage with his band the the Meijer Garden's amphitheatre, Grand Rapids, MI. Earl's playing was actually pretty limited, but it was still great to see the man live.

Day 168

Clearing out the basment.

Day 167

Flower in shadow, backyard.

Day 166

Sita in shadow profile, Hannah Street, Albion, MI.

Day 165 bonus material

Small oil derrick east of Albion, MI. Derrick? Is that what you call these things?

Day 164

How excited was I to see Sita and Lola again?!

Day 163

A small craft makes its way through the channel from Bay Point Marina to Sandusky Bay, Lake Erie.

Day 162

Cemetery on Johnson's Island containing the graves of confederate soldiers who died while imprisoned there.

Friday, August 7, 2009

Day 160

Seagulls following our ferry back from Put-in-Bay to Catawba Island, OH.

Day 159

Canada Geese on the second hole of the golf course next to our condo (taken from the condo balcony).

Day 158

My super-model-gorgeous wife at the lighthouse, Marblehead, OH.

Day 157

Manifest evidence that I need to learn how to change the focus on our camera. I took about half a dozen pictures of Amy at the beach in Marblehead, OH, and she's out of focus in every one. The stupid camera kept focusing on the yellow casing of a guy-wire connected to a telephone pole (which I cropped out). But Amy's so gorgeous even blurry she's beautiful!

Day 156

Corralling the dogs for a family photo can be a chore...

Day 155

Sita's spotted something over my leg.

Day 154

Hydrangea in our yard.

Day 153

Lola surveying her interior domain.

Day 152

Amy with my new blood pressure cuff. Fun times ahead...

Day 151

Lola wishing I'd leave her alone so she could sleep some more.

Day 150

Clover.

Day 149

Flowers on our mantle. This would be one of the photos that I took late at night having had no inspiration during the day. (Or, maybe, forgetting to take one...)

Day 148

Canada Geese in a parking lot.

Day 147

Flower with rain drops.

Day 146

Backs of Superior Street Buildings near between Michigan and Cass Streets.

Day 145

Dinner at 91 in Canal Fulton with three-fourths of the Bitch Hogs.

South Haven Pier, South Haven, MI.

Day 141

Picture of some sort of flower I took somewhere.

Day 140

Green Day, on stage at the Palace of Auburn Hills, outside of Detroit, MI, July 14th. (Yes, I'm dreadfully behind in posting pictures!) We actually had a much better view that this cellphone picture suggests. The show was amazing.

Day 139

Sita with her discount dog toy.

Day 138

Sign says it all. Charlie's Tavern in Albion, MI.

Day 137

View from the quad in Chicago's Fourth Presbyterian Church, East Chestnut and Michigan Avenue. I liked the obvious contrast.

Trapeze artist/wine bottle collector at the amazing Texas de Brazil, in Chicago.

Day 135 bonus material

My gorgeous wife on Chicago's Miracle Mile.
