Day 76

Porcelain beer stein my parents gave me for my birthday--thirty years ago!

Day 75

My father-in-law hybridizes hostas; consequently we have a fair number of them around!

Day 74

My incredibly beautiful, creative, and imaginative wife, Amy, showing off one of her latest creations--a polymer clay flower pony tail band.

Day 73

Lola in the sunlight, Amy's studio, Albion, MI.

Day 72

Day 72. I think this building also used to be a school.

Day 71

Taking a break from the abandoned Albion series to bring you--ducklings! (Taken with my iPhone.)

Day 70

This place used to be a school of some sort, when the town was more populated-and prosperous.

Day 69

This one isn't really all that interesting. All the windows are boarded up and, to be honest, in colour it's a pretty bland photograph. Again, though, I wonder--what's it like inside?

Day 68 Bonus material

This place has quite the mix: intact windows, broken windows, boarded up windows, and one completely empty window, or rather, no window at all--just a hole in the wall. This place also has a safety warning and no trespassing notice on the front. At one point I think it was a multi-unit home. Interesting second-story deck, wouldn't you say?

Day 68

Abandoned house, Albion Road, Albion, MI.

Day 67 Bonus material

Remains of the Harvard Industries factory, formerly the largest employer in town.

Day 67

The depressing thing about taking photographs of abandoned buildings in a town like this is you begin to realize just how damned many there are. I wasn't even planning to shoot this one--I was heading to the abandoned factory across the street on Albion Road when I took a good look at this building for the first time. I think it used to be a bar with apartments on the second floor, but I'm not sure.

Day 66 bonus material

Actually, this is my photo of the day. The one below should be considered the bonus material.

Day 66

Day 66, and I find some new inspiration as I begin my "abandoned Albion" series. This house is on Erie Street, west of Superior, and it's looked pretty much like this for the eight years I've lived in this town. The pink sheet on the front reads "Condemned as unsafe and dangerous." What do you think it's lie on inside? *shudder*

Day 65

Setting up shop for the b-line.

Day 64

Day 64.
